You Stretch Every Other Part Of Your Body, Why Not Do Some Ab Stretches

Upward Dog

    This stretch is actually a Yoga stretch. Lie on the floor with your stomach on the ground. Push your arms up so only your upper body comes off the floor. You can keep your forearms down on the floow or you can completely extend your arms. Hold for 15-30 seconds.

    Make sure to keep your shoulders down. Do not shrug your shoulders when you do this stretch.

Bow

    A great stretch for your obliques is the bow. It will also stretch your back a bit. Standing tall reach your right hand over your head and bend at the hip leaning your body to the left. You should feel this all the way down your side into your hip. Switch Sides. Do 10 seconds on each side twice.

Child's Pose

    From Upward Dog, lean back so that your butt is sitting on your calves. You can either leabe you hands down by your feet or your can reach your hands forward. Hold for 15-30 seconds then go back to Upward Dog.

Spine Roll

    Why is there a back stretch in your ab routine? Well your spine gets a lot of action when you are working your abdominal muscles. So we want to take care of our spine since we only get one.

    Lay on your back. Pull your knees into your chest and wrap your arms around your knees. Roll back to the top of your spine and roll back up onto your butt. Repeat this 5 times.
