Body Detox Recipe
Eating healthy foods is the best body detox recipe. There are foods and herbs that can help you rid your body of harmful toxins that taste good too. You can start eating healthier and cleanse your body of toxins with the foods, herbs and spices you probably have in your pantry and refrigerator. Avoid meats; especially char- broiled meats since they contain free radicals that cause cell damage. Alcohol, coffee and sodas should also be avoided when on a cleansing diet, especially diet sodas that contain harmful artificial sweeteners. The first and easiest thing that you can do to remove toxins from your body is to drink more water, fruit juice and vegetable juice. White bread, alcohol, sugars, and processed foods fill your body with toxins. Did you know it takes the liver months to digest artificial sweeteners? They keep the liver from processing other things like fats more efficiently. Additionally, processed foods contain chemical additives to enhance color, flavor, and contain preservatives. These chemicals can build up in your body and make you feel tired, interfere with sleep, cause constipation, poor liver and kidney function, and may even compromise your immune system. One of the most effective body detox recipes includes raw organic honey, mixed with psyllium husks and water. Stir until the husks are dissolved and then add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Drink the entire mixture right away and follow with another glass of water. Psyllium seeds help to promote bowel movement and maintain general good bowel condition. The seeds have good absorption properties that will absorb toxins and remove them through the bowel. You can add other natural supplements to maintain a healthy digestive system. Adding cascara sagrada to psyllium seeds serves as a natural laxative that will help to move toxins out of your body quickly before they can be absorbed by the intestines. There are supplements available at health food stores that contain milk thistle and nettles that are good for cleansing the liver and the urinary tract. Burdock roots are good for cleansing the body of heavy metals. Dandelion roots are excellent in a body detox recipe. They cleanse the liver, gall bladder, and kidneys. Most of our lawns have dandelions growing in them. One body detox recipe calls for pulling the entire plant from the ground, including the root. Wash it thoroughly to remove dirt and any toxic chemicals that may be present. Steep the following mixture in one cup of hot water for ten minutes: one ounce of dandelion root, one ounce of leaves and stems, add some fennel seeds and a bit of peppermint leaves. Strain the mixture to drink. This dandelion tea will stimulate bile production, promote digestion, and cleanse the liver of harmful toxins. Dandelion tea is also good to remove toxins from the gall bladder and kidneys, especially if taken in combination with other body detox recipes. A delicious tea can also be made by adding to raw organic honey and organic cinnamon to green tea. Apples, spinach, chopped parsley, celery, cinnamon, lemon and fresh berries along with some ginger root blended with distilled water and ice cubes makes a delicious and healthy frozen juice drink that is nutritious as well as good to cleanse the body.
