It is a condition that is characterized by excessive amounts of body fat. Other factors include not getting enough sleep and the act of quitting smoking. Smoking is an appetite suppressant, and many people that quit find themselves eating much more, which can lead to serious weight gain.

    One of the main causes of obesity is depression. Unfortunately this is a cyclical process that can be very hard to break out of. Some people use food as crutch to feel better. However, the more they eat, the more weight they gain which makes them even more depressed.

    There are many causes for obesity, but whatever your reason, you can overcome your weight issues by even making small dietary changes and taking brief daily walks. Even starting by walking an extra 5-10 minutes a day can start you on the path to weight loss. Consulting a doctor and making even bigger lifestyle changes like eating healthy meals and working out can lead to larger amounts of weight loss.
