Diet and Nutrition Tips for Weight training and Weight Loss

This page is dedicated to diet and nutrition tips that will help you not only have a well rounded exercise routine, but a sound diet and nutrition plan as well.

Nutrition is usually ignored by people weight training or trying to lose weight. Most do not realize the importance of nutrition. A proper diet can actually accelerate the results of your workout and weight loss routines.

A big reason people do not see results is because they have a bad diet plan. You can do all the right exercises, but you will not see results with an unhealthy diet. You are not going to see results eating doughnuts and coffee every morning.

What most people do not realize is that workouts are a destructive process. Your muscle fibers are being torn and your fat and glycogen stores are being broke down.

This is why your post workout meal is so vital. Post workout meals help replenish your body and help your muscles repair.

Most people feel good nutrition is eating less food. As a result, they tend to eat food lower quality as well. You are actually doing your body more harm as it is not getting the essential nutrients it needs.

So from this day on you are going to know all the right steps to take when it comes to nutrition with our diet and nutrition tips.

What are Your Caloric Needs?

An important part of your nutrition plan should be knowing how many calories you need to eat in a day. To get a general idea of where you stand you can use a great program (it's free!) called Fit Day. Just enter your weight, height, age, and daily activity level and it gives you a good idea of what you need to maintain your current weight.

Macronutrients - How much?

Our body needs Protein, Carbohydrates, and yes, Fats. It's the ratio of these nutrients that helps us burn fat and build muscle.

A good energy and fat burning ratio is 30% protein 50% carbs 20% fat.

NEVER remove a macronutrient from your diet. Reducing your carbs to ridiculously low numbers is dangerous. Did you know that your brain can only function using carbohydrates in your diet, not those created from the break down of energy stores?

Did you also know that fat helps you absorb certain fat soluble vitamins? So we can't ignore fat either unless we want to become deficient. in vitamins like Vitamin D and E.

Don't kill yourself to get these numbers exactly, just in the ball park.

If you are a vegan or vegetarian having a hard time getting enough protein, you might want to try a Protein Supplement.
