Do not cook with protein powders. They are temperature sensative, especially whey protein. Just dissolve your powder in water and drink right away. Some people use milk or fruit juice as well to add to the taste. There are some powders out there that are weight-gaining powders. Weight-gaining powders have a lot more carbs and fat in them. I recommend sticking to a regular protein powder described above. You will gain weight as you build muscle mass. Protein Bars Protein bars vary greatly from brand to brand in the number of carbs, protein and fat. Protein bars are convenient for right after your workout but often have protein inferior to that in powders. Therefote, I do not recommend protein bars as regular use protein supplements. One benefit is that they are usually loaded with other vitamin and minerals.
