Stretching Exercise - Prevent Injury And Perform Better

Stretching exercise should be a part of every one of your workouts. Not only does it help to prevent injury, it also increases your flexibility so you can perform better.

You came here to workout, build muscle, and lose weight. Well you can't do that if you pull a muscle. Ever try running with a pulled hamstring or quad? It doesn't work too well. Ever try lifting with a pulled bicep? Not fun.

Since we want to keep our workouts consistent, let's try to minimize set backs by performing a proper warm up.

Your stretching does not have to take a long time. Just 5-10 minutes warming up the muscle groups you plan to work will do wonders at preventing pulls and tears. It can even ease next day muscle soreness.

Below are a list of stretches for the various parts of your body. Select the appropriate ones for your workout.

  • arms

  • back and chest

  • legs

  • abs

Make stretching exercise a part of your everyday routine. Your body will thank you in the long run.
